The mission of the Antitrust Division is the promotion and maintenance of competition in the United States economy. The Antitrust Division is the primary advocate of competition within the executive branch and works regularly with Congress, urging that the marketplace, —through purchase decisions made by consumers —rather than government agencies, determine the products and services that businesses will provide.
